As the fall season approaches, it is a reminder to us that the end of the year benefits will expire soon for most of our patients. At Petaluma Dental Group we are proud to do our best to help you maximize your dental insurance.
Our experience has shown that if we plan carefully we can save you money and help you get the dental care you deserve. We can help you get the most out of your dental benefits before they expire.
Most dental plans allow teeth cleanings two times a year. If you are due for a cleaning, have dental treatment pending or if you feel you may need treatment that hasn’t been planned yet and you haven’t maxed out your insurance benefits for the year, we encourage you to schedule an appointment before the end of the year.
You may also have a flexible spending account or health savings plan. In most cases the money left in these accounts at the end of the year will be lost if you don’t utilize it. These are the dental benefits that you have paid for!
Remember our team at Petaluma Dental Group is happy to help with any questions you have about your individual treatment or opportunities with your insurance.
Make your appointment with us now as appointments at the end of the year tend to fill up quickly, (707) 762-0067.
If you are like most people, you love to save money! And we all know that health care can be expensive. But, skipping the dentist’s chair, like skipping the doctor’s office when you’re sick, to save money can have major repercussions on both your health and your wallet.
Even if you have dental insurance, your copayments and deductibles can quickly add up. But putting off dental care can lead to bigger problems. Left untreated, a small cavity can eventually lead to tooth loss, an abscess to a major infection. Finding ways to get affordable dental care now will save your mouth and your money in the future.
Our patients often ask us how they can receive the highest quality care in the most cost-efficient manner. Here are some suggestions for you.
Dental Insurance:If you are fortunate enough to have dental insurance, be sure to thank your employer! However, unlike medical insurance, most dental plans are designed to assist in paying for dental treatment, not cover most or all of it.
At Petaluma Dental Group we will work closely with you and your plan to maximize your benefits and give you the best estimate possible. Our front desk team will be glad to assist you with any questions you have and help make your dental care as affordable as possible.
Payment Plans:If you don’t have insurance, or if your dental needs are not well covered by your plan, we are glad to offer you monthly payment options through Care Credit, the country’s top provider of health care financing. Many times we can offer payments that are interest free!!
We also offer an in-office preventative care plan called Plan for Health.
We have several plans that allow you to keep up with your oral health at a price you can afford. Please ask us for more details.
The BEST Way to Save: The number one way to save money on dental treatments…a commitment to great oral hygiene! Proper brushing, regular flossing, and eating a healthy diet are key. Together with regular cleanings and exams will save you the most money in the long run!
If you have any questions, or would like to schedule an appointment, give us a call at (707)762-0067. We are here for you!
A laser is an instrument that produces a very narrow, intense beam of light energy. Lasers are often used in conjunction with other dental instruments for many different purposes from removing or shaping oral tissues, to sealing blood vessels and nerve endings, reducing bleeding and post-op pain and swelling.
Laser Use for Periodontal Disease
Periodontal or gum disease is an infection of the supporting tissues and bone that hold your teeth in place. Gum disease is the major reason for tooth loss after 30 years of age. Almost 80 percent of the adult population is thought to have gum disease to one degree or another.
Bacteria in your mouth can cause an inflammatory reaction which can destroy the fibers that connect teeth to bone and can create a small space, or pocket. A laser is used to selectively remove infected or diseased tissue lining the pockets around your teeth. The power of its focused light destroys otherwise inaccessible bacterial colonies while promoting healing.
Oral Systemic Health
Many studies have been taking place that link serious gum disease or periodontitis to a number of other diseases that affect the body. Studies have shown that your oral health can give warning signs for other diseases or conditions including heart disease, diabetes, stroke, bacterial pneumonia and pregnancy complications.
Treating periodontal disease with the use of lasers can eliminating infection and its accompanying inflammation to help reduce the severity of other disease processes, kill potential periodontal infections before they cause tooth loss, boost your immune system, and improve your overall health!
